The Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadium in Yupia, Arunachal Pradesh, has officially received the Class 2 Athletics Facility Certificate from World Athletics, marking a major achievement for the region’s sports infrastructure. The certification, granted on January 14, 2025, validates that the stadium’s Gallant Track meets international standards for hosting World Athletics events. The certification is valid until July 2029.
The track, manufactured by Gallant Sports & Infra Pvt Ltd., underwent extensive testing and evaluation by several international agencies, including Nopnada Group Limited Partnership, Sportline Montenegro, and Kanstet Ltd., ensuring full compliance with global standards.
This milestone positions the Golden Jubilee Stadium as a key venue for both national and international athletics events, boosting sports development in Northeast India. The stadium joins a select group of certified athletic venues across the country.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his pride in the achievement, stating on Twitter, “We are proud to announce that the track at the Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadium, Yupia, has been granted the Class 2 Athletics Facility Certificate by World Athletics. This project is the second of its kind in India and the first in the Northeast, completed under the ‘Make in India‘ initiative of our Hon PM Shri @narendramodiji.”
