Assam: Northeast Frontier Railway Special Trains for Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 Pilgrims

Guwahati, Feb 15: To accommodate the large number of pilgrims expected to attend the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will operate additional special trains. These trains will run between Jogbani and Tundla, providing direct travel options for devotees.

The special trains will run as follows:

  • Train No. 05718 (Jogbani to Tundla): Departs Jogbani on Friday, February 15, 2025, at 18:40 hours, arriving at Tundla at 19:00 hours the following day.
  • Train No. 05717 (Tundla to Jogbani): Departs Tundla on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 21:40 hours, reaching Jogbani at 20:00 hours on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
  • Train No. 05720 (Jogbani to Tundla): Departs Jogbani on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 18:40 hours, reaching Tundla at 19:00 hours the next day.
  • Train No. 05719 (Tundla to Jogbani): Departs Tundla on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 21:40 hours, arriving in Jogbani at 20:00 hours on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

These special trains will feature 22 coaches, including AC-2 tier, AC-3 tier, Sleeper Class, and General Sitting coaches for passenger comfort. The trains will pass through several important stations, such as Forbesganj, Arariya Court, Katihar, Khagaria, Barauni Jn., Patliputra, Ara, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya, Prayagraj, and Etawah.

Additionally, Train No. 05841 (Rangapara North to Tundla) will run for a one-way journey, departing Rangapara North on February 15, 2025, at 17:30 hours and reaching Tundla at 06:30 hours on February 17, 2025.

To facilitate the Maghi Purnima celebrations, Daily Special Trains between Katihar and Manihari will also continue until February 21, 2025.
