Mizoram Governor Gen VK Singh Holds Meetings with President, PM and Key Union Ministers

New Delhi, Jan 21: The Governor of Mizoram, General (Dr) VK Singh, who is a retired senior officer of the Indian Army with distinguished honors (PVSM, AVSM, YSM), had a busy day in New Delhi meeting top leaders of the country. He met with President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and several important Union Ministers. The main purpose of these meetings was to discuss ways to support Mizoram’s development and address key challenges faced by the state.

During his visit, Governor Singh held separate discussions with key central leaders, focusing on various sectors important for Mizoram’s growth. Here’s a detailed look at the discussions:

  • Meeting with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman: Governor Singh talked about the need for financial support to ensure Mizoram’s development. They discussed ways to improve the state’s economic strategies and provide better financial assistance for its ongoing and future projects.
  • Meeting with Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil: Water management and infrastructure were the key topics here. They explored how to improve water resources in Mizoram and build sustainable systems to ensure long-term benefits for the people of the state.
  • Meeting with Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri: Governor Singh discussed how to improve energy development in Mizoram. The focus was on making energy more accessible and affordable, while also increasing its availability to support economic and social activities in the state.
  • Meeting with Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav: Since Mizoram is rich in natural resources and forests, the discussions revolved around conservation efforts.
