Aizawl, Jan 17: Pu Virendra Kumar Jakhar, Executive Director of NHIDCL Regional Office Aizawl, along with his team, met with Mizoram Governor General (Dr) VK Singh at Raj Bhavan today to brief him on the progress of the corporation’s highway projects in the state.
During the meeting, Governor Dr. VK Singh emphasized the need for timely and high-quality completion of NHIDCL’s projects, particularly stressing the importance of the Silchar highway as a crucial lifeline for Mizoram. He urged the team to prioritize the road’s completion.
In his presentation, Pu Jakhar provided a comprehensive update on the National Highway projects in Mizoram, noting that the state has 1,523 km of highways, with 921 km under NHIDCL’s responsibility. Out of this, 547 km have been completed, 221 km are under construction, and 153 km are in the pipeline.
