Guwahati, Jan 25: In a significant recognition, over 135 individuals from Assam, along with their families, have been invited to attend the 76th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi on January 26, 2025. These invitees are part of a nationwide group of approximately 10,000 special guests, selected for their remarkable achievements in various fields and as beneficiaries of key government initiatives.
The Assam contingent includes farmers, women entrepreneurs, foresters, and youth, highlighting the inclusive nature of the event. Among the invitees are Niresh Chandra Barman, a farmer from Salkocha in Dhubri; Reena Daimary, an entrepreneur from Goalpara known for her piggery farm and cake-making business; and Raju Uraon, a Forester Grade-I from the Kaziranga Eastern Assam Wildlife Division.
Other notable invitees include Sabita Terongpi, a beneficiary of the Lakhpati Didi Scheme from Biswanath, and Pramod Saikia from Mangaldoi, a recipient of the PM Surya Ghar Scheme. This initiative celebrates the contributions of individuals from diverse sectors and reaffirms the government’s commitment to recognizing their achievements.
