Namchi, January 18: Arun Kumar Upreti, Minister for Rural Development and Cooperation, visited the traditional stalls at the ongoing Maghey Sankranti Mela in Namchi on Saturday. The Minister, who was the Chief Guest for the day’s cultural program, was accompanied by Madan Cintury, MLA and Chief Patron of the Mela, along with other distinguished guests.
During the visit, the Minister explored the various stalls set up for the festival, offering a glimpse into the region’s cultural richness. Upreti also visited the ‘Parampara Khan-Pan Parishar Dhaftar,’ where he was presented with traditional souvenirs. The stall owners greeted the Chief Guest with local delicacies, providing him an opportunity to indulge in traditional Sikkimese cuisine.
